Team America: World Police

£2.79

Get ready for a hilarious and action-packed comedy with "Team America: World Police". This satirical masterpiece from Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the creators of South Park, follows the adventures of a group of authoritarian puppets on a mission to, well, police the world.

The film is a send-up of Hollywood action movies, spy thrillers, and Bush-era foreign policy, with a healthy dose of humor, satire, and anarchy. The team of marionettes, led by the straight-laced, by-the-book leader Joe - voiced by Trey Parker - embark on a global quest to prevent a nuclear war from breaking out.

Along the way, they encounter a cast of colorful characters, including a North Korean dictator, a French agent, and even Kim Jung Il himself. But don't worry, the film doesn't take itself too seriously, with plenty of gags, parodies, and over-the-top action sequences to keep you laughing out loud.

The disk features English audio with subtitles, so you can enjoy the zany antics of Team America from the comfort of your own home. With its witty humor, irreverent style, and catchy musical numbers, "Team America: World Police" is a must-see comedy for anyone who loves satire, espionage, or just a good old-fashioned laugh. So grab some popcorn, sit back, and join the team on their globe-trotting adventure to save the world from itself!

Name: Review:
Team America: World Police is a wildly entertaining ride that pays homage to the classic Gerry Anderson productions Thunderbirds and Fireball XL5, but with a decidedly darker twist. The film's mission of seeking out evil terrorists and keeping the world safe from harm is as old-school as it gets - after all, who needs fancy animation when you've got string puppets? As an added bonus, the movie throws down plenty of adult humor for those who are willing to look past the surface level.

One of the film's greatest strengths is its willingness to take a stand and tackle tough topics head-on, much like Southpark's creators have done in their own body of work. The satire is biting and often irreverent, with no qualms about pushing the envelope when it comes to social commentary. For those who are looking for a film that will challenge their assumptions and leave them feeling uncomfortable - or maybe even laughing out loud - then Team America: World Police is an excellent choice.

Despite its willingness to tackle tough subjects, the movie never loses sight of its comedic sensibilities, making for a wildly entertaining experience that's sure to appeal to fans of adult humor. Overall, it's an enjoyable film for anyone looking for something with a bit of edge.

South Park's continued legacy as a program for slaughtering sacred cows resonates strongly with fans, particularly those who appreciate its irreverent humor and biting satire.

This particular installment delivers on that promise, with a side of comedy that never fails to elicit a laugh. One standout scene is the I'm So Lonely song, which stands out for its unflinching portrayal of loneliness.

It's worth noting that this film also features an unforgettable puppet performance: a show-stopping musical number that will have you crying tears of joy. The fact that your wife enjoyed it enough to make her watch the musical Rent is a testament to its enduring appeal.

As someone who has followed the work of Trey Parker and Matt Stone, you probably know what to expect from this team's oeuvre. If you're new to their body of work or haven't seen anything like it before, this might be an excellent starting point. It's definitely worth checking out for anyone looking for a film that's unapologetically honest and uncompromising in its humor and themes.

The quality of the animation is also noteworthy, offering a unique blend of dark humor and crude wit. Overall, South Park remains a standout title in the world of animated comedies, and it's likely to continue delivering laughs for years to come.

Team America may not be for everyone, I have to admit - the Scary Movies can be a bit hit or miss for some people, but that's what makes satire so great. For me and many others, Team America is an absolute masterpiece of comedic genius. While I appreciate the effort, I find it hard to keep up with the layers of jokes at times, but that's part of its charm.

The film's clever script is a work of art - Paris takes the brunt of the explosives in one of the opening sequences because the writers have actually seen the aftermath of serious tensions between Presidents Bush and Sarkozy. I've heard it said before that Jerry Bruckheimer does some things right, but what you see on screen can be quite different.

The action movie genre is something that Team America expertly satirizes - easy to parody, yet brilliant in its execution. The film's use of puppets instead of live actors sets the tone for the rest of the film and provides a great backdrop for its witty remarks about Hollywood itself.

Matt Damon may not be my favorite actor, but I still managed to laugh out loud when he appeared on screen. Despite some flat moments, like the gross-out scene involving the lead character and the Spotsworth oral sex scene being too uncomfortable, these are minor complaints in an otherwise hilarious film. The ridiculous plan to infiltrate a terrorist cell in Cairo is just one of many absurd and brilliant ideas that make Team America stand out.

The character of Kim Jong-il may seem off-putting at first, but trust me when I say he's hilarious - the line between absurd and brilliant is a tightrope to walk, and Team America nails it. The film's portrayal of its subjects as somewhat eccentric figures with outrageous make-ups also makes for some laugh-out-loud moments.

If you're a left-leaning teenager, you may not appreciate Team America's subversive humor - but if you're anyone looking for something funny, even if it's not exactly what they'd expect from a comedy film.
